Preparation:
Steel
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, grease, salts, rust, mill scale, loose paint and other contamination. For best performance, abrasive blast clean to Sa 2½ according to ISO 8501-1. For general maintenance work, mechanically prepare to a minimum of St 2 or St 3, ensuring all loose rust and scale are removed. Degrease before abrasion where oil or grease is present.
Aluminium
Aluminium must be thoroughly degreased and mechanically abraded to provide a suitable key. Remove all sanding dust before application.
For smooth aluminium or severe exposure conditions, adhesion testing is recommended before full application.
Galvanised Steel
New galvanised steel should be degreased and lightly abraded or sweep blasted to remove surface contamination and provide a mechanical key. Weathered galvanised steel should be cleaned to remove white salts, oxidation products, dirt and contamination before priming.
Previously Painted Surfaces
Ensure the existing coating is sound, well-adhered and compatible. Remove all loose, flaking or defective coatings. Abrade glossy surfaces to provide a key. Carry out a small compatibility test before full application.
APPLICATION:
Do not apply below 5°C or when relative humidity is above 85%. The substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point before and during application. Do not apply to damp, frozen or contaminated surfaces. Avoid application in direct rain, heavy condensation or when rainfall is expected before the film has dried. Ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying.

Stir thoroughly before use. Apply evenly and avoid excessive film build, especially around edges, corners and overlaps. For best corrosion protection, ensure the recommended dry film thickness is achieved.

When your order contains products supplied by third-party manufacturers or distributors, available delivery services and shipping costs may vary. Where Express or AM Express delivery options are not available for the combined order, Trade Coatings products will be dispatched using Standard Delivery.
Products supplied by different manufacturers or distributors may be dispatched separately and arrive on different dates.
Important notes on processing
Next working day orders: To qualify for Express or AM Express, orders must be placed and confirmed before 10:30am, Monday through Thursday.
Weekend orders: Orders placed after 10:30am on Friday will be processed first thing on the following Monday morning.
Delivery surcharges (non-mainland UK)
We are currently unable to offer the above flat-rate costs to all areas. Please be aware that there may be additional delivery charges for customers in non-mainland UK areas, such as the Scottish Highlands and islands, Northern Ireland, and the Isle of Man. If your delivery address falls into one of these zones, we will get in touch with you before processing your order to confirm any extra costs. You will always have the option to proceed or cancel.
