Description

APPLICATION
To ensure the full protective performance of the Trade Coatings Render & Masonry Shield Coat system, correct application rates and recommended re-coat intervals must be strictly followed.
Trade Coatings Render & Masonry Shield Coat must only be applied when environmental conditions are suitable. Always consult the limitations and application guidance provided in the Trade Coatings Data Sheets prior to use. Before application, all glass surfaces and window frames should be adequately masked. Surrounding areas such as plants, lawns, joint sealants, asphalt, and bitumen-coated surfaces must be properly protected to prevent contamination.

Priming Coat Preparation and Application
The priming coat should be prepared on site by diluting Trade Coatings Render & Masonry Shield Coat. Thoroughly stir the product before use. Using appropriate measuring containers, combine 1 part Trade Coatings Masonry Shield Coat with 1-part clean drinking water by volume in a clean container. Mix using a paint stirrer until a smooth, low-viscosity consistency is achieved.
Apply the primer evenly to the prepared surface (or existing coating) using a brush or roller. The mixture should be stirred at regular intervals to maintain uniformity. Any unused primer must be stored in a sealed container. It is recommended that only enough primer is mixed to complete the work planned for that day.
Allow the priming coat to dry for a minimum of 6 hours at 20°C. Drying times will increase in cooler conditions. The surface must be completely dry before applying any subsequent coats—under no circumstances should overcoating occur prematurely.
Topcoat Application
Once primed, apply two full coats of undiluted Render & Masonry Shield Coat, ensuring the material is stirred thoroughly before use. Application may be carried out by brush, roller, or airless spray.
The first coat should be applied evenly to achieve a wet film thickness of no less than 180 microns. Allow this coat to dry until firm to the touch, typically around 6 hours in dry conditions at 20°C. Apply the second coat in the same manner, again achieving a minimum wet film thickness of 180 microns.
